Jeff Vohden – President of Editure Professional Development
Jeff Vohden was appointed President of Editure’s Teacher Professional Development Division in 2007. Prior to that, he worked with the business as an external consultant and was instrumental in developing the marketing strategy for the business. Prior to joining Editure, he was Senior Vice President in Sales and Marketing at Pearson Learning (a division of Pearson Education the world’s largest education company). At Pearson he established alternative sales channels, a cross-discipline strategic sales team, and new procedures to improve efficiencies across sales and marketing. Mr Vohden was also Senior Vice President of Marketing at Prentice Hall where he directed the marketing activities for one of the nation’s largest and most successful educational publishers. He was also a Marketing Manager for Scholastic (a US listed education company) in the Instructional Publishing Group. Mr Vohden was a Vice President at Silver Burdett Ginn, a US educational publisher. He started his career as a high school biology teacher. Mr Vohden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Business Administration degree.
Bill McConnell – Embedded Onsite PD
Bill McConnell has worked for AUSSIE for almost 10 years and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2007. Mr McConnell has nearly 30 years experience in the global education sector. Commencing his career in Australia as a teacher, he spent 12 years as an educator, which included roles as Vice Principal and Literacy consultant. Mr McConnell was State and International Sales Manager for Rigby Education (now part of the Harcourt Group) for six years. In the mid 1990’s, he utilised his literacy expertise and took on a General Management position with a South African based Reading Matters where he was responsible for facilitating PD programs to enhance literacy levels within the region. He joined AUSSIE in the late 1990’s as a specialist literacy consultant.
Victor Aluise – Technology Consulting
Dr Victor Aluise is an educational technology executive with the passion and vision to lead the strategic planning, implementation, and growth of education businesses – in digital and print media. Before joining Editure Dr. Aluise was the President of McGraw-Hill’s Grow Network, where he was responsible for transforming the product development organization, processes, and technology platforms in order to deliver world-class products & services for US and international educators, students, and families. Dr. Aluise has also held senior roles with large education focused organisations such as Education Testing Services, Scholastic, PBS/Thirteen. Each of these roles has involved extensive work in the area of transforming learning towards the incorporation of digital technologies. Dr Victor Aluise, gained his Doctorate from Columbia University in Educational Technology.
John Mullin – PD Content & Platform
John Mullin has been responsible for management of TeachFirst since company inception in 2000, maintaining alignment between TeachFirst’s shared education and business missions from original product concept through TeachFirst’s current suite of products and services. John has overseen TeachFirst’s growth from the first basement office in Seattle to its current level of operations. Prior to TeachFirst, Mr Mullin spent 12 years in various management roles in start up and early stage technology companies, including roles as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing in the streaming media and wireless industries. Mr Mullin has served on the Steering Committee of the Infotech Infusion public/private partnership creating technology academies within Seattle high schools, as Board Chair for Washington Literacy, and on the Building Leadership Team for John Stanford International School. John received a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA with honours from the University of Washington.
Sheena Hervey – Chief Education Officer
Sheena Hervey joined AUSSIE in 2003 and was promoted to Chief Education Officer in 2007. Ms Hervey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the educational foundation and deployment of consultants for PD. She is a highly regarded authority on education who is widely published, a sought after key note speaker and has received national recognition in New Zealand for her work in literacy education. She has worked in schools for over 20 years as a classroom teacher and in government education departments. Ms Hervey was a senior literacy consultant to the Department of Education in New Zealand and the Community School district in New York. For five years she held senior positions within the Dunedin College of Education where her final role was as Director of Primary (Elementary).
